Der "schlimmste" Tiefsandabschnitt ist nicht die Nordzufahrt zum Park, sondern die Strecke zwischen Khaudum, Doringstraat und Leeupan (Khaudum - Tsau müsste ähnlich sandig, bin ich aber nicht gefahren). Da erreicht man eine Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit von ca. 12 km. Schuld daran ist das Aufschaukeln und nicht der Tiefsand an sich. Inzwischen sind die neuen Hilux richtige "PS-Monster" geworden, sodass man nicht einmal mehr die Untersetzung bemühen und auch nicht den Luftdruck auf 1,1 oder 1,3 bar absenken muss.

also herr cruiser ich kenne schon die himmelsrichtungen. Das wasserloch heisst Tsonana , liegt am / im Fluss und hatte auch im Mai relativ viel wasser. Mea culpa es sind fast 16 km. Überings kann man den park auch über den fluss anfahren.

Was würdet ihr uns für eine Strecke empfehlen um durch den Park zu fahren (September) von nord nach süd? die direkte von Khaudum-Tsau-Omuramba-Soncana-Tsumkwe oder Khaudum-Doringstraat-Leeupan-Tari-Omuramba-Soncana-Tsumkwe?
Welche strecke ist schöner zum Fahren betreffend Aussicht und evtl Tiere?

It is time we have a serious discussion about putting the management of our national parks under private management, because clearly, the MET is not capable of running them as they should be."

Weil im vergangenen Jahr aufgrund des staatlichen Sparkurses keine Wildzählung im Khaudum-Nationalpark stattfinden konnte, ergreifen Privatpersonen die Initiative, und zwar auf eigene Kosten. Und damit nichts schief geht, nehmen die freiwilligen Helfer auch noch eigenen Sprit mit...
