pauliman, Harald Lux,

A big THANK YOU for the Air Namibia warning!!! I called my travel agency at once even (apparently) before they were informed by Air Namibia. Which was a good thing as I must have been one of the first directly affected clients... Meant they could book me over Frankfurt (with a BA flight from London to Frankfurt). We have to leave a day earlier, my (already booked and paid) train tickets to London become void & off course we be underway for some more hours, but all in all we have a reasonable solution... And we CAN still go to Namibia 😉

What I do wanna say here though is that I'm NOT satisfied about the way Air Namibia has treated me as an affected customer in this situation. The only reply they send on my mail enquiries was "The travel agencies are informed, they will inform you". I am now trying to levy the cost of my void train tickets on them but they don't even care to respond.
But let's give them a few more days maybe before cracking them down all the way...

Again VIELEN DANK!!!! Without you I would have known it probably a lot later and possibilities to solve would have been less...

This is Africa...:(

Last year we had two flights with Air Namibia: never ever again. 🙄
For the next time I recommend you Air Berlin, starting from Düsseldorf or München: more comfortable aircrafts, very friendly service and -if it is important- a good on-board-entertainment.
And if you are lucky it's even much more cheaper!

But nevertheless I wish you a nice trip now!:)

Thanks for the tip Melka!
I looked at Air Berlin to, but our Air Namibia flights from London were at 485€ per person tax inclus. which was (WAS! 😉 a very good deal...
And I can recommend this travel agency Trailfinders we booked through. They really go out of their way in terms of service. Now also to find a solution. I think they called me 4 times in one day to suggest possible solutions...
Air Namibia on the other hand...
But hey I will keep harassing them untill they answer me and untill they offer me some kind of compensation.
Hehe I can be a very bitchy customer! 😛

Hi Koelan,

es gibt leider keine Flüge von Air Berlin ab Düsseldorf nach Windhoek. Nur noch ab München möglich.

Gruß,
U.

Hast recht, ist nicht wirklich direkt... Zwischenlandung in München. Soooooo genau wollte ich es eben nicht nehmen. Hatte leider vergessen, in welchem Forum ich mich gerade befinde. 😊
