(Quelle: Hitradio Namibia)

Gestern via WhatsApp. Keine Ahnugn wer die Quelle ist.
Viele Grüße Christian
FYI update C39 Khorixas to Doro !Nawas is in super condition. D2612 to the Twyfelfontein / Living Museum turn off is also good as well as all the way to the Aba Huab crossing near Aibaiba (sp? ) Camp, then it's rough and corrugated till past Madisa. From Madisa to the junction it's doable with a grader on the road.
C35 Road down to Ugab bridge is fine. Most of D2344 via Omatjete to Omaruru is ok and good with the grader working Omaruru side.
Then Omaruru to Wilhemstahl is ok with corrugation patches and there are two graders working
This was all yesterday. I came back to D!N today via Khorixas and the rain is building up ... so will see if it rains tonight. if you do the road tomorrow just watch the dips if it did rain.

The newly build section between the Swakop airport circle and the Rossmund turnoff (on the B2 route outside Swakopmund) is now open to traffic with a 4-way stop-sign at the new C34 / MR44 / B2 intersection (+- 200m from the newly constructed bridge). Numerous roadsigns in place to this effect with flag men as interim arrangement but to little avail ... seen both trucks and vehicles completely ignoring all warning signs and road markings at this new 4-way stop with speed well in access of 100 km/h.
PLEASE STOP AT THE 4-WAY STOP AS INDICATED BUT PLEASE ONLY PROCEED WHEN ALL VEHICLES CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP or HALT .... OR YOU WILL BE IN FOR A NASTY IF NOT FATAL SURPRISE !!!
C28 to Hotsas turn off is good. The park road is excellent and must have been graded till the Volstruishoogte outcrop. The rest of that bit till D1982 is ok, tad corrugated. Pity cause NO ONE seems to drive the 60km/ph for those roads AND they chase the wildlife away while speeding (we got Mnt Zebs on the outcrop, warthog, giraffe, hares but the fool behind me was not patient enough, we let him pass and they all ran away. Wonder if they bothered to buy a permit? D1982 to the D1998 turn off is also great as is D1998 till C14. AMAZING game. C14 all way to Kuiseb Canyon good. Recently graded. Kuiseb all the way yo Solitaire is also good considering it will be crap in high season again. Recently graded.
Solitaire to the corner where you turn off to Namib Naukluft Lodge is ok. Rest till Agama is a disaster. The rest of C19 is ok
Also did D854 via Tsauchab River Lodge it's ok. Suspect poaching in Naukluft ??tbc, MET and POL crawling all over the show (might be with regard to other poaching closer to WVB). Bullsport to Rietoog is excellent as is the rest of road c24 to Rehoboth.
Watch some dips/dongas as it must have rained in past week or so, so they have small wash aways (Quelle: Toni Hart, Reiseleiterin)

First 35 kms stretch from Henties Bay surely a nice drive. Thereafter the road is characterized by loose sand with rough patches but fortunately there is a grader in attendance at the +- 60 kms mark. The last 35 kms stretch towards Uis become rougher with bad corrugation and uneven patches. Lots of loose stone and gravel to road edges forcing motorists to stick more to the middle of the road in 2-spoor track...
There are rwo (2) bad sections ... the first 40 kms from the Usakos side and 30 to 40 kms before reaching Henties Bay. Maintenance ongoing with a grader in attendance. Plenty rough patches, loose sand & stone and uneven roadsurface along the way but surely your typical Namibian gravel road ... PLEASE don't expect your smooth tarred-road drive...

High traffic volumes recorded on the C14 route between Walvis and Solitaire (especially self-drive tourists). Numerous motorists failing to switch the headlights on and failing to maintain a safe following distance in dusty conditions. Road surface rough and uneven the more closer you get to the canyon with more than enough corrugation.
PLEASE adapt speed and driving habits accordingly ...

PLEASE TAKE NOTE: C34 route (the section between the B2 route turnoff and railway line) closed.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
C34 route (the section between the B2 route turnoff and railway line) closed. Traffic no longer able to turn off at the 4-way stop on the B2 route towards the Henties Bay road at construction area. All traffic to enter Swakopmund via B2 route ... thus no "shortcut" to Henties Bay.

Hallo Logi,
PLEASE adapt speed and driving habits accordingly ... also adapt tyre pressure as per road conditions. Speedlimit normally 100 km/h but we strongly suggest driving at 70-80 km/h especially if you are not familiar with gravel roads and if inexperienced.
