After quite a long time and hard work 😎 with reading and looking for all sort of information about Namibia we have now our route for our May/June holliday finished. Nevetheless that it has some similarities to some other's from that forum I'll be gratefull to get some of yours feedback.

As this time of the year is winter could anybody tell me how long is the "day light time"- namely I've read that one should care to come to camp before sunset?

We are planning to make reservation of campsite only in Sesriem, Swakopmund and Etosha- for the purpose to be us much as flexible with our yourney. Is this OK?

Hi bibka, great tour you have planned in May.
Its sure better to be at the place before sunset. I drove to Swakopmund and started to late. It was nightmare and dangerous driving trough darkness. And the darkness will come fast, you will see.
Resevations is another story. I have allways reserved my places to stay at least two month in advance, mostly by E-Mail or FAX. But it is kind of adventure to travel your way. May be I am to old for that. I want to know whats happen tomorrow and where I sleep.
We used to travel to north in Namibia so far, so the only lodge I personally know on your list is Dustenbrook. Very nice place, friendly host and breathless gamedrive to leopard feeding. You will enjoy the stay there. Be prepared for good sundowners.
O.K. bibka, time is running, I know you count days allready. I wish you "good pad", enjoy Namibia.

Hi,
thank you so far the information about sunrise/sunset. It will definitely help us to better organise our morning get-up and daily drive.;)Do I think correctly that the day start/finish without twighlight, as we are used to in Europe? Similar experience we had in New Zealand, darkness came at once.😄

As far as I see quite a lot of you are reading our plan but it seem to me that you are afraid to make any comments. SO,IF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS A PROBLEM, PLEASE, DON'T HESITATE-YOU CAN WRITE IT IN GERMAN!!!;)I do understand it.

I'll be glad if anybody can give some information on Brukkaros campsite (is it sill working?)as well as about Farm Aussenker on Orange River,Namuksluft Rest camp (about 20 km from Rosh Pinah and Ombinda Country Lodge&camping. And what about Bitterwasser- I hope it is not reserved only for air-gliding fans 😮 since I didn't see this place was on any itinerary of yours.

And there is another question, maybe interesting for others too - as we are camping and we will be mostly cooking by ourself - where are the best places to make food shopping on our way. I'm not sure if all villages we are traveling through have food shops. And if we are not staying on the farms, is it possible to buy some food there anyway?

I also like to ask you if maybe there is some agency near Etosha that organise just a flight over Victoria Falls, something similar as in Namib?
