Warum du aber just auf meinem Beitrag ohne "Quellenangabe" herumhackst erschließt sich mir nicht,
wo es derer doch unzählige hier gibt.

Danke GinaChris für den link auf die alten Fotos, diese kannte ich noch nicht und ich bin sehr interessiert an solchen Zeitdokumenten. Mein Interesse ist rein persönlich, also nicht kommerziell. Das nur zur Klarstellung, bevor hier Jemand wieder die Nerven wegschmeißt.

Bitte um Aufklärung betr. Urheberschutz im inkriminierten Anlassfall, welcher mE KEIN eigenes Werk darstellt, sondern nur eine abfotografierte Preisliste, die per se immer öffentlich war, weil eben für die Öffentlichkeit gemacht, was sonst 😗 . Es könnte genauso gut ein(e) Speisekarte, Straßenschild, Fahrplan etc. sein, von denen es hier xxxx gibt, ohne dass sich wer deswegen derart aufbuddelt. Dass Frau Naude die Rechte auf die Preisliste (1969!) exklusiv erworben hätte, kam mir nicht in den Sinn. Aber du wirst es sicher besser wissen.
Natürlich will ich auch nicht, dass der Forumsinhaber Schwierigkeiten bekommt oder dass die Diskussion deswegen hier fortgesetzt wird. Ich bin daher durchaus bereit, meinen Beitrag zu löschen, wurde aber wegen einer Löschung hier schon gesperrt. Ein klassischer Catch 22, in welchem man immer verliert. Daher meine Bitte an M@rie: Melde den Vorfall beim Betreiber und macht euch mein Forumsschicksal untereinander aus, in so was hast du ja Übung. Ich werde es akzeptieren ....

‼️ URGENT CARNIVORE ALERT‼️
20th - 21st December 2022
The Carnivore Team has released an URGENT WARNING that a large female leopard has been spotted in the Kingfisher/ Geelslang and Lyster area. She is hunting between the houses.
Everyone should be extremely careful and vigilant as she shows no fear for humans!!
The immediate alert is for BLOCK “D"as per the attached map. For those who are not familiar with Marloth, BLOCK "D" IS FROM RENOSTER, KINGFISHER, SEEKOEI, SWARTWITPENS, RATEL AND OLIFANT! A follow-up alert will be supplied if they move out of these areas!
EVERYBODY needs to be extremely cautious and an urgent alert for joggers, hikers and cyclists in the morning and afternoon! Be extra careful at night as the leopard is a bigger threat in the dark! If you are having a braai, sit with your backs to a wall and keep the lights on!
PLEASE do not allow children to roam around or play unsupervised - period! The leopard is extremely dangerous especially where kids are concerned!
An urgent alert for joggers, hikers and cyclists along these areas throughout the day!
Unfortunately the warnings are not taken seriously! The onus is on each and everyone to adhere to the alerts and warn others of the dangers.

SANParks To Develop SOP To Ease Implementation Of Polygraph Tests

The country's body charged with the management of the national parks system, South African National Parks (SANParks), confirms it is in the process of developing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to ease the implementation of its recently approved Polygraph Testing Policy.

This is according to SANParks' General Manager: Media and Stakeholder Relations, Rey Thakhuli, who said the SANParks Polygraph Testing Policy was approved by the SANParks Board in November 2022 and has subsequently been signed into effect by the Acting CEO. He said the policy was developed after extensive consultation with relevant experts, including experts on labour law and consultation with organised labour.

According to Thakhuli, the intention is ultimately to make polygraph testing compulsory to certain job categories as determined by a risk assessment of function and job content, however, the current Labour Law environment and SANParks Conditions of Service disallow compulsory application of polygraph testing. The policy however paves the way for negotiating a collective agreement in the near future that will result in the amendment of the Conditions of Service, as well as the inclusion of compulsory polygraph testing as part of new employment contracts.

He said for existing employees, amendment of employment contracts in line with the policy can only be undertaken following negotiation and conclusion of a collective agreement with organised labour. He emphasised that there is also an option for individual employees to voluntarily agree to have their employment contract amended. "This will be done to manage risks without compromising employees’ rights and resulting in victimisation."

The value of the policy and the, still to be developed, SOP is that it allows for the application of testing on a voluntary basis and in a manner that enables risk mitigation to manage risks without compromising employees' rights or creating an environment of victimisation.

"It is accordingly important to appreciate that Polygraph testing is not the answer to prevent or manage staff involvement in criminality but it is a tool that needs to be used as part of the toolkit and with a full understanding of its benefits, but also its limitations," Thakhuli elaborates.

He pointed out that even in the voluntary form, polygraph testing does play an important role in preventing staff involvement in criminality, such as rhino poaching. He explained that these conclusions were drawn following a pilot conducted in the Kruger National Park amongst the ranger service a couple of years ago. This pilot study served to inform the current policy and has the following benefits:

For most of our rangers that are honest and committed to the protection of rhino, it provides an opportunity to demonstrate that they are trustworthy - this is an important imperative for team cohesion and constitutes positive pressure to all the cores.
The instrument is also one of the many initiatives that SANParks uses to deter employees from participating in criminal activity.
An indication of potential deception in a result, whilst it cannot be utilised to initiate disciplinary action, utilised with other tools, such as investigations, inform criminal and disciplinary procedures.

⚠️Flood Update in Kruger National Park⚠️
Currently we have 4 camps that have been badly affected by the floods; namely: Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge, Biyamiti and Talamati. These camps remain inaccessible since the early hours of this morning.
Management has been in constant communications with guests inside camps about the situation as well as posting updates on social media throughout the day on 09 February 2023.
Technical Service with the assistance from Ranger Services have been assessing access and working to find possible solutions on all access routes with no success due to the damage. The floods remain fluid, with more heavy rains anticipated tonight and tomorrow morning. The status of all affected camps and roads can only be further assessed in the morning, and updates will be communicated through social media as well as in person to the affected guests.
We appreciate your patience as our loyal guests while we work to keep both guests and staff safe during the floods.
No threat or danger to lives has been experienced in the park so far and we will try our best to continue to keep all our guests in the affected camps safe.
guests that have bookings in the 4 affected camps can contact those camps directly or Central Reservations for assistance to modify their bookings while the camps remain inaccessible.
All access gates into Kruger National Park are open and guests can enter and exit the South of the park from these gates, except Crocodile Bridge. Traveling between Satara and Skukuza or Lower Sabie is not possible at this stage.
We believe that we will have the roads between Lower Sabie and Tshokwane, Tshokwane and Skukuza open by tomorrow morning, provided that the heavy rains are not persistent, allowing our technical staff time to work on these damaged and closed roads. The route between Tshokwane and Skukuza allows guests to depart Lower Sabie with the river residing. The route directly from Lower Sabie to Skukuza remains inaccessible.
All bridges and other drainage structures affected need to be inspected before we open them to traffic. Guests are advised NOT to take chances and leave any camp without checking with camp management and reception about the status of the roads they plan to travel on.

Skukuza Airport update - road via Sabi River low bridge is still closed. Staff and passengers will be escorted across the Shalati bridge on foot and shuttled with a vehicle to/from the airport. The various lodges have been advised. At this stage we are waiting confirmation on the access to the airport via Toulon Gate and Sand River and will advise.

SANParks ON ALERT AS MORE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO FALL
According to reports from the South African Weather Services, various parts of the Kruger National Park (KNP), will continue to receive rainfall as from Friday, 10 February until Friday, 17 February 2023. Disaster management teams in the park and external role players are on alert and monitoring the impact of this rainfall.
Evacuation operation is underway to assist guests who were staying at Lower Sabie, Talamati, Crocodile Bridge and Biyamiti with available safe passage out of the park. This is an evacuation route, and no guests will be able to travel through to those camps. Guests with bookings at affected camps are advised to amend their dates through Central Reservations number 012 428 9111.
Although there were no injuries or fatalities, there was an incident yesterday wherein a tourist vehicle got stuck in the water at one of the bridges in the Park.
“We would like to once again urge guests not to attempt to cross any bridges that are overflowing as the dangers of being washed away remain high. Guests are further advised not to open or travel on any roads which have been closed and not to use gravel road. As a precautionary measure, the teams have closed gravel roads in the south as well as flagged camps (Talamati, Lower Sabie, Crocodile Bridge and Biyamiti) since the fall of heavy rains in the evening of 8 February 2023. Meanwhile emergency teams are also closely monitoring the situation in the northern part of the park as rivers have also started rising in various parts of Limpopo Province,” said the KNP Managing Executive, Oscar Mthimkhulu.

Access roads inside the park

The route between Satara and Skukuza has been restored and is operational.
The water flowing into the Lonely bull bridge is rising; the tar road between Phalaborwa and Mopani will be affected; please be cautious.
“We request tourists to be extra cautious during this period and to call our emergency number for any assistance only on 076 801 9679 or 013 735 0197/4064. We will also continue to update the public through mainstream as well as social media platforms in order to ensure guests are informed. We encourage those who have access to social media platforms to also assist by posting valuable updates on SANParks – Kruger National Park Facebook group,” concluded Mthimkhulu.

Ups..... gerade erst planmäßig am 9.2. den Kruger Park verlassen (aber über die High Level Bridge Malelane). Hat aber auch ekelig geregnet im Süden und der Wasserstand war schon heftig hoch. Schwein gehabt.... 🤨
Wir hatten für den 7. + 8.Feb. nur noch die Anfahrt von Olifants über Skukuza nach Berg en Dal gemacht, da waren schon viele Gravel Roads gesperrt, alle Low Level Bridges auf den Tar Roads waren da gerade noch zugänglich, aber man sah schon, dass es echt knapp wird.
