aus div. fb-Gruppen:
CKGR, besonders Zufahrt Rakops-Matswere, sowie Moremi und Chobe,
tlw sehr schwierige Fahrverhältnisse durch die heftigen Regenfälle.

Xakanaxa-North Gate-Verbindung geschlossen
3rd Bridge nicht über Xini, nur über Xakanaxa erreichbar
The road from South Gate to 3rd bridge is very wet and only getting worse as the rains are continuing. There are two rather deep water crossings, I wouldn’t advise crossing them if you don’t have a snorkel on your car and a back up vehicle.

Die Karte zeigt die aktiven Gewitter in Botswana.
Soz. Medien berichten, dass im CKGR, und Moremi quasi kein Weiterkommen mehr ist.
Die Front zieht nach Namibia weiter.

Nööö, die ist seit gestern schon da. 🤩

Beim Abendessen gab es gratis Fußbäder, während man sich am Buffet gleichzeitig duschen konnte... 😉

Und seit heute Nacht auch immer wieder Stromausfälle.

Hat eigentlich jemand auch Informationen über die aktuelle Situation in Botswana ?
Wenn man sich die Radarbilder anschaut gibt‘s da ja auch viel Regen.

PRESS RELEASE: SEASONAL RAINFALL AND TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK FOR THE PERIOD OCTOBER 2021 TO MARCH 2022
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Department of Meteorological Services (DMS) has reviewed the state of the global climate systems and analyzed the rainfall prospects for the rainfall season, which starts in October 2021 and ends in March 2022.
During the first half of the season, from October to December 2021, most of the country with the exception of the southwest, is expected to receive normal to above normal rainfall. Kgalagadi District is expected to receive normal to below normal rainfall. Temperatures for this period are expected to be normal to above normal.
During the second half of the season, from January to March 2022, the bulk of the country will receive normal to above normal rains with the northern parts receiving above normal rainfall. Temperatures will be normal with a tendency to below over most areas.
Generally, a moderately wet season is expected countrywide with the north eventually being extremely wet during the last half. Therefore, the upcoming season is anticipated to be similar to the previous one.
OCTOBER, NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER 2021 (OND)
Ngamiland, Chobe, Ghanzi, Northeast, Central, Southeast, Southern, Kgatleng and Kweneng districts are expected to receive normal to above normal rainfall. Temperatures will be normal to above normal.
Kgalagadi District is expected to experience normal to below normal rainfall. Temperatures will be normal to above normal.
JANUARY, FEBRUARY AND MARCH 2022 (JFM)
Ngamiland, Chobe, Northern Ghanzi, Northeast and Central districts are expected to receive above normal rainfall. Temperatures will be normal to below normal.
Southern Ghanzi, Southeast, Kgatleng, Kweneng and Kgalagadi districts will receive normal to above normal rainfall. Temperatures will be normal to below normal.
ADVISORY
The aim of this rainfall and temperature outlook is for it to be used for the benefit of policymaking decisions in the climate sensitive sectors for socio-economic purposes as well as to manage risk arising from climate variability and climate change.
The outlook is relevant only for seasonal time scale and relatively large areas. Local and month-to-month variations might occur as the season progresses. Users are therefore, strongly advised to contact the Department of Meteorological Services for interpretation of this forecast, finer details and additional guidance
