From Windhoek to Namutoni

Hi fomis!!!

The first step of my trip with the hilux car is from Windhoek to Namutoni. I know I have to take the B1 til Otjiwarongo, and there turn rigth to Otavi, and here is what I do not what to do. I have searched the rute in google maps, and it says from Otavi to Namutoni through D3028 y D3025. Is it possible??? or should I take all the way till Tsumeb???

welcome to this forum.

To drive from Windhoek to Namutoni, there is a much easier way:

Drive the B1 straight through Otavi and Tsumeb, northwards, and than take the C38 on the left hand side, which goes directly to Namutoni.

Sure, from Otavi off you can use the D3028, it goes northwards directly to the eastern part of C38.

Do you want to get fast from Windhoek to Namutoni, than use the B1/C38 route.

In the case you have more time and want to see a little more, than you can use the B1/D3028 version.

Thanks for your help. The route you recommend is entering Ethosa through Anderson Gate. I had chosen entering thorugh Von lindequist gate, as the destination after Namutoni is Halali, and this way I would pass through place that I ahve also been. Is the difference big??

Whats about the roads D3028 and D3025?? How are they?? are they fast? where does the roadD3025 ends?? The Tracks for africa maps does not descrives well....

I do not know what to do!!!

Google maps says 568 km and 7.14 hs through Okaukuejo and 483 km and 5:40 hs through Otavi and D3028 and D3025 it is a quite difference!!!

if you want to stay at first at Namutoni you have to enter the park via Van-Lindequist Gate in the eastern part of the park (B1 and C38) close to Namutoni.
