FlySafair will launch new routes between Durban’s King Shaka Airport and East London as well as Durban and Port Elizabeth. The first flights will depart on 27 November and tickets are already on sale.

Airlink has announced an increase in a number of flight connections. The airline is already servicing daily flights between Cape Town and Maun and from 02 July, Airlink will offer a similar flight service between Cape Town and Victoria Falls, except for Saturday. From 02 July, the airline will add a second service out of Cape Town to Nelspruit, operating daily except for Saturdays.

Interessante Entwicklung. Es gibt ja wahrscheinlich weiterhin Frankfurt und auch Zürich. Wie das zum wirtschaftlichen Niedergang Südafrikas passt, und zum quasi-Zusammenbruch der öffentlichen Ordnung in einigen Landesteilen, ist mir nicht klar. Aber LH wird schon Zahlen haben, warum sie das machen.

Einen Vorteil hätte der Flug ab MUC. 😎 Man kommt früh (05.40 h) in Johannesburg an. Das heisst, man erreicht die Flüge nach UTN um 11.00, nach SZK um 10.00 oder nach MQP um 10.05 h oder 11.05 h ohne grossen Stress.
Die Flugpreise sind allerdings etwas höher als ab Frankfurt.

Air Belgium hat alle Linienflüge, damit auch die nach Kapstadt und Johannesburg, eingestellt:

Das Geschäftsmodell von Air Belgium hab ich nie verstanden. Alle großen Airlines fliegen von Europa nach Johannesburg, da kommt man als kleine Airline ohne Codeshare schwer ins Geschäft. Und attraktiver wird Südafrika - gerade im Tourismus - durch die derzeitigen Zustände auch nicht. Deswegen wundert mich auch die Ankündigung MUC-JNB von Lufthansa.
